Robot Millennium 20.1 – Maintenance Pack 3 – November 2007

1.    Structure calculations

Graphic viewer:
  • Enhancements in selection of overlapping lines
  • Correction of descriptions of structure axes
Model generation:
  • Preserving a ”frozen” FE mesh if meshes are adjusted automatically
  • Corrections concerning loads:
    • verification of loads on contours,
    • possibilities to force displacements for partial elastic supports.
  •  Supplements to steel section databases (GOST and RPOL).
  • Correction of generation of elastic linear supports for shells.
Calculations:
  • Correction in calculations for supports with friction.
  • Enhancements in calculations of buckling in the non-linear analysis by means of the BFGS method.
  • Correction in calculations for a non-linear support defined at the “master” node of a rigid link.
Results:
  • Removal of a fatal error on opening a table of bars and deflections for RC sections.
  • Unblocked calculation notes if the “My documents” folder is moved to the root.
Remaining issues:
  • Correction of work of selected methods of ”com” interface (ROS):
    • unneeded deletion of supports when modifying object geometry,
    • correct information about the list of objects of a given story.

2. RC Calculations

General:
  • Preserving data while copying ”Inspector” elements.
  • Taking account of a change of a level name in drawings.
Slab calculations:
  • Acceleration of reinforcement generation and correction of map display.
Beam calculations:
  • BAEL91 code: corrections of generation of ‘bielles’.
Column calculations:
  • ACI code: correction of capacity surfaces for seismic combinations.
  • BAEL91 code: correction of fire resistance calculations for slender columns.
Spread footing calculations:
  • ACI, BS, CSA, EC7: correction of values of stress in the soil for bi-directional bending.

3.    Steel Calculations

Steel member design:
  • ASD: increased value of admissible stresses is correctly taken into account.
  • EC3:  correction of bending verification for large transversal forces
  • AIJ-ASD, BS 5950:2000, BSK99, GB50017-2003, NS 3472:2001, SNIP II-23-81, STAS10108/0-78: Correction of an incorrect buckling length in calculations of groups.
Connection design:
  • Removal of a fatal error on opening a project with connections defined according to different codes.
  • CM66:  
    •  correction of resistance of the beam-beam connection
    • removal of a fatal error of calculations and indefinite partial results,
    • correction of verification of anchor lengths for a fixed column base.
  • Generation of a fixed column base in the place of a fixed elastic support.
Remaining issues:
  • Timber column design according to CB71 – correction of fire resistance calculations for rotated sections.

Model generation:
  •  Removal of the error of text file analysis that occurs for *.str files including the definition/calculation set for steel members.

1. Structure calculations

Graphic viewer:

  • Correction of graphics-related errors occurring for some cards working in the environment of the Windows Vista system
Model generation:
  • New databases of cold-bent steel sections for the markets of the USA and Canada.
  • Extension of file saving/reading in the CIS/2 format:
    • import of relative section offsets
    • import of steel sections taking account of alternative names in section databases

Calculations:

  • Correction of the memory error for particular situations of supports with friction.
  • Correction of the spectrum definition with an unneeded change to the logarithmic spectrum.
Results:
  • Adaptations of descriptions of reaction diagrams to the currently-set preferences.
Remaining issues:
  • Correction of detailed errors

2. RC calculations

General:
  • Correction of the error of loosing objects while starting calculations with switching to the drawing layout.
Beam calculations:
  • BAEL code: correction of calculations of “bielles” struts
Spread footing calculations:
  • BAEL code: correction of a calculation note
  • Correction of work of calculations from the list
Remaining issues:
  • Correction of detailed errors

3. Steel calculations

Steel member design:
  • Possibility of calculations according to the Spanish code SEA:2006.
  • Additional check of a value of the Weff coefficient (EC3:2005) by comparison with the elastic coefficient.
Connection design:
  • Taking account of a change of dimensions of welded bars (plate girders) in the connection update.
  • CM66 code: taking account of the verification due to rotation in the pinned column base check.
  • PN code: supplementation of calculation notes with information concerning some elements (plates, brackets) in the beam-column connection.
Remaining issues:
  • Correction of detailed errors.

1. Structure calculations

Graphic viewer:

  •  Windows Vista – the ”Aero” mode switched off automatically during the time the program is working
  •  “Disappearing” texts restored in particular situations, e.g. after activating an animation of displacements, after changing the size of window with the opened dialog box of load case components.
  •  Possibility to select a dimension line by indicating it with the cursor.
Model generation:
  • Taking into account “lost” contour loads with automatic panel selection when orientations of the contour and the panel are opposite.
  • Correction of an unjustified increment in numbering of elements while updating a structure (created with the use of the COM interface).
  •  Correct definition of the label for imperfections defined by values specified by the user.
  •  Correction of the definition of an elastic support (KZ value) for imperial units.
Calculations:
  •  Removal of “error 5000” when Sturm check is switched on, for particular tasks
  •  Correction of the sum of forces and reactions for models including rigid links and releases modeled by means of DSC elements.
Results for bars:Selection is preserved when opening a new window with results in the form of maps on bars.
  • Display of diagrams of sectional forces for tension bars when the combination filter is on.
  •  Removal of the error on refreshing the table with results of stresses at characteristic points.

2. RC calculations

General:
  •  Improvement of display of reinforcing bars.
  •  Possibility to change a level name in the Inspector dialog box
Beam calculations:
  •  Implementation of the warning that the admissible area of longitudinal reinforcement is exceeded.
  •  Correction of a drawing of antishrinkage reinforcement.
  •  Correction of the self-weight of T-beams imported from CBS Pro.
Spread footing calculations:
  •  Forcing the coordination of dimensions when changing tabs in dialog boxes for definition of a spread footing.
Continuous footing calculations:
  •  Implementation of the message about the uplift of a continuous footing from the ground.
  •  Return to the definition of spans resulting from the geometry of a wall that rests on the continuous footing, and not from the division of a wall into finite elements.
  • Corrections of reinforcement resulting from BAEL requirements (number of bars, lap splice lengths)
Slab calculations:
  •  Removal of the error of the slab wizard if the user has no right to use ROBOT OS.
  •  Taking automatically into account the self-weight for slabs defined by means of the wizard.
  • Corrections of verification and reinforcement of zones.
RC member calculations:
  • Taking into account the reinforcement against torsion in the resultant longitudinal reinforcement.

3. Steel calculations

Steel member design:
  • Possibility to verify tension bars.
  • Corrections and supplements to calculations according to EC3, EU5F.
Connection design:
  • Detailed corrections of verifying calculations according to EC3, PN and CM66
