CBS Pro

Structural modeling, preliminary design and "load take-down" software Object Modelling

CBS Pro is an easy to use yet powerful software tool for the modeling, analysis and cost estimation of multi storey structures in reinforced concrete and other materials (can be also applied in case of timber or steel structures). Using the “object oriented” approach, CBS Pro allows the user to very quickly build up a structural model using “components” such as beams, columns, walls, floors and openings. In this way, structures of almost any geometry can be defined quickly and easily.

General Possibilities:

  • work with selected language interface (multilingual and multinational program)
  • easy model definition: wide range of options to simplify modeling (grid generator, definition of columns, beams, slabs, walls, footings, openings etc.); access to internal (cross sections, materials, openings etc.) and external (*.mdb format) databases
  • tabular (reactions, internal forces, loads) or graphical presentation of results (diagrams on bars, maps on slabs and walls)

The Calculation Approach

Following the preparation of the structural model, CBS Pro will calculate the loads on all structural components, using the “tributary area” approach or by adopting a full finite element analysis made “invisibly” inside CBS Pro. These results can be further used for:

  • verifying the loads in all parts of the structure right down to foundation level (so called “load take down”)
  • producing preliminary sizing of all concrete members
  • producing detailed rc drawings of beams, columns, foundations
  • carrying out dynamic and seismic calculations
  • producing bills of materials

Integration with CAD software:

  • possibility of export/import to/from many well known architectural programs, and many other programs by using IFC format (Industry Foundation Classes) - there is no need to start from the skeleton of an architectural model, since the whole“intelligent” model may be imported directly into CBS Pro – the Engineer may then easily assign features to the model to describe both structural and non structural components
  • integration with AutoCAD Structural Detailing

Further Integration

CBS Pro also integrates with other applications:

  • possibility to produce ROBOT Millennium file automatically for advanced calculation (dynamics, P-Delta etc.)
  • bi-directional integration with ESOP for cost estimation calculations etc.
