Revit Structure Gains CIS/2 Plug-In

Robobat Releases Free CIS/2 Translator for Revit Structure; Expands Interchange Options for Structural Engineers doing Building Information Modeling

NASCC, San Antonio, February 8, 2006 —  Robobat and Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADSK) today announced the immediate availability of a free plug-in translator for Revit Structure, the building information modeling (BIM) software for structural engineering, to the CIS/2 (CIMSteel Integration Standards/Version 2) protocol.  The CIS/2 translator will expand the ability for structural engineers, detailers, and drafters using Revit Structure to exchange data with other software applications and make it easier to create, manage, and share structural building designs and analyses.  The free CIS/2 translator for Revit Structure is available at http://www.revit.robobat.com.

“Revit Structure is emerging as the strongest building information modeling solution for structural engineering,” said Gary Wyatt, International Sales and Marketing Director of Robobat.  “We are happy to deliver the CIS/2 plug-in for Revit Structure and will continue to provide tight integration between Robobat and Autodesk products.”

Revit Structure uses a single building information model to support concurrent modeling for structural design, analysis and documentation and has bidirectional links to industry-leading third-party analysis tools including ROBOT Millennium, the world renowned structural analysis and design software from Robobat.

“Autodesk is committed to helping our customers realize their ideas by supporting established and emerging industry standards,” said Jim Lynch, Vice President, Marketing, Autodesk Building Solutions Division.  “We thank Robobat for stepping up to provide the CIS/2 plug-in for Revit Structure and helping our structural engineering customers leverage the building information model for downstream applications.”
